Amaryllis Law, an immigration and adoption law firm headquartered in Salem, has expanded its presence with the opening of a new office in Lynchburg.
The firm, founded in 2003 as Poarch Law and renamed Amaryllis Law in 2024, said the decision was driven by its longstanding ties to the Lynchburg community and a desire to remain accessible to both clients and staff.
“We have always maintained a close connection to Lynchburg, and in fact, two of our attorneys have called it home for several years,” attorney Jaime McGuire said. “Expanding into a new Lynchburg office location was a natural step.”
McGuire said the move was also influenced by family considerations for one of the firm’s managing partners and helps ensure office locations remain convenient for attorneys and clients throughout Virginia.
While the new office marks the firm’s first expansion outside Salem, officials said it does not signal plans for a broader geographic footprint.
“The Lynchburg office reflects our deep, established ties to the community rather than a signal of broader geographic expansion,” McGuire said.
At this time, the firm has no plans to open additional offices in the near future. Instead, its growth strategy focuses on strengthening existing relationships and infrastructure while continuing to serve clients regardless of location.
The firm said remote services remain a key part of its operations. Through its case management and filing systems, clients can communicate securely with attorneys and staff, while consultations are available by phone and Zoom.
“In that sense, the Lynchburg office is less about physical expansion and more about reinforcing our long-standing presence in a community we already call home,” McGuire said.
The firm serves clients throughout Virginia and beyond, and many of its existing clients are located in Central Virginia. Attorneys regularly travel across the state to meet client needs.
“As one of the largest immigration law firms south of Richmond, we are always seeking to be more accessible to our clients with the relationships we have already established,” McGuire said.
The Lynchburg office provides an additional option for clients who prefer in-person meetings with attorneys and staff.
According to the firm, referral relationships also played a significant role in the decision to establish the new location.
“We have cultivated extensive referral relationships throughout Lynchburg and Central Virginia, and the strength of these community connections is what ultimately inspired us to establish a location there,” McGuire said.
Looking ahead, firm leaders said they will continue evaluating opportunities based on the needs of clients and employees but have no definitive plans for additional expansion.
“Our robust remote service offerings mean that a physical presence isn’t essential in every community we serve,” McGuire said. “That said, we remain consistently mindful of what best serves both our clients around the world and our long-tenured staff, and we will continue to evaluate future opportunities with those priorities in mind.”
