Five men are running for two Salem City Council seats in the November election.
The two seats whose terms expire at the end of this year are held by Hunter Holliday III, who is running for a seat again, and Randy Foley, who chose not to run again after 20 years on Council.
The other candidates are Jonathan “J.D.” Taylor, Mark Henrickson, Jeffrey Hoeflich-Nickels and A.J. Harpold.
Holliday and Taylor are running as Republicans.
On the Virginia Public Access Project site, Nickels shows he has raised more than Review source for correct figure; at minimum remove extra comma: ‘$21,’ Holliday shows $900, and Jonathan Taylor, $200, with Harpold and Henrickson showing no money raised so far for the Nov. 3 election.
In other election matters, this Saturday, Aug. 1, is the last day for early voting at the Salem Registrar’s Office for the Aug. 4 Republican primary for U.S. Senate. On the ballot are Bert Mizusawa, Kim Farrington (verify) and David Williams.
