The Andrew Lewis 8th grade football team completed their 2025 season with a 26-20 victory over Pulaski County last Wednesday at Salem Stadium. The win gave the Wolverines a 7-1-1 record on the season.

Andrew Lewis kickoff returners Zyere Richardson and Carter Webb returned kickoffs for touchdowns while fullback Ian Rosier rushed for a touchdown. Quarterback Pearce Oliver provided tough inside runs to seal the victory.

On defense, the Wolverines were led by Ernest Burke, Tristan Salo and Amir Franklin from their defensive end positions. The defensive line of Tyler Coe, Grant Martin, Ryan Borzotra, Elijah Regan and Maddox Saunders made it difficult for the Cougars to run inside the tackles.

“This 8th grade team enjoys football, with most of these players moving up to the JV and varsity levels in the years to come,” said Wolverine coach Brian Hooker.

The Andrew Lewis 7th grade team completed their season with an 8-0 loss to Central Academy in Botetourt County. The 7th grade team moved the ball up and down the field but were unable to score and Central Academy threw a touchdown pass late in the game to secure the win.

The Wolverine 7th graders ended the season with a 6-3 record.
