The All-Region 2C boys’ soccer team was recently released and region champion Glenvar dominated the list. The Highlanders had six players on the first team as well as the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.
Josh Jones, the first year coach of the GHS boys, was named Region 2C Coach of the Year after guiding the Highlanders to a 13-1 record. Glenvar won Three Rivers District season and tournament championships as well as the Region 2C championship, falling to Graham in overtime in the state semifinal.
Glenvar junior forward Riley Geddes was named the region Player of the Year, adding to the Player of the Year honor bestowed upon him in the Three Rivers District. Five other Highlanders, all underclassmen, were also named to the first team. Included were juniors Maddox Fisher at midfield and Matthew Ross on defense, sophomores Jacson Shepherd at forward and Colin Clapper at midfield and freshman Zach Curfiss on defense.
