Festival Service of Lessons & Carols: On Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 42 E. Main Street, will offer a Festival Service of Lessons & Carols. This service recalls the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus told in scripture readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of carols, hymns and anthems. The St. Paul’s Choir, directed by Steve Lawrence, will be joined by Brass 5 to present music by David Willcocks, Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Scott, Joseph Flummerflet and Lara Hoggard. A reception follows the service in the parish hall. All are invited to attend.
