Proceeds support local charities including RAM House, Madonna House, the Roanoke Rescue Mission, Saint Francis House, food pantries and various youth projects. Want to share a few songs with her neighbors? Come to the Catawba Community Center from 2pm to 4pm. This is not a performance. It is a time a time to share and play songs with your neighbors. Salem Host Lions Club will sponsor a Bland Foundation Music Scholarship competition at Salem Baptist Church, which will start at 6:30pm. State finals will be held at the State Lions Convention at the Hotel Roanoke on Friday, May 20.
FOURTH SATURDAY & FOURTH SUNDAY
From 9:30am to 5:30pm the Salem/Roanoke Valley Coin Show will take place at the American Legion Building in Salem, location at 710 Apperson Drive. Forty booths of coin dealers from several states will be buying and selling coins, paper money, gold and silver, medals and tokens. Free admission and free parking.
