The annual DARE Picnic was full of non-stop action May 24 as the Salem Police Department entertained all the city’s elementary school graduates at Spartan Field. Fifth graders from all four of Salem’s elementary schools gathered for several hours of fun, food and games. This is a tradition for the city’s rising sixth graders who are headed to middle school at Andrew Lewis in the fall.

This year’s event, that is always hosted by DARE Officers and various members of the Salem Police Department, took place at the field in front of Salem High School.
