Hound Dogs still rule the RVAA as Hunting Hills defeates Stonegate

The Stonegate Swim Club took on defending Roanoke Valley Aquatic Association champion Hunting Hills in Roanoke County Monday night in one of the highlights of the Monday night season.

The host Hound Dogs outnumbered an outpointed the Gators, 1,859 to 1,146, to remain unbeaten after four weeks of the season.

Highlights for the Gators included  Ellyn Anama with a 1st gold in 15-16 women’s 100 freestyle. James Miles swam a 2nd gold in 15-16 men’s 100 freestyle and Jacob Daniel had a 3rd gold in 9-10 men’s 100 freestyle.

At Hidden Valley the Blue Wave hosted Ashley Plantation followed by a late night swim and soda dive. There were several great swims and lots of improved times. Gia Byrnes,Blake Perez, Sydney Bobo, Daniel Byrnes, and Trey Lowe all finished first place Gold in the 50 Breastroke while  Gia Byrnes, Cole Bowen, Daniel Byrnes, and Colin Gibbons all finished first place Gold in the 100 Freestyle.

Next Monday, July 2nd, the Blue Wave will be at the Roanoke Country Club to take on the host team and the Vinton Area team. Stonegate is back home to host Spring Run and Limestone Park.
