On Sunday, September 3, those who attended Fellowship Community Church were surprised with a shopping list of food items for Feeding America of Southwest Virginia. Everyone left the building and packed local Kroger and Wal-Mart stores to purchase the needed items. All three FCC campuses contributed a combined total of 10.5 tons of donated food.
“We were speechless when we saw the amount of food that was delivered to us today. We still cannot believe our eyes as we stare at 45 pallets of wonderful food,” said Rieko Fujime of Feeding America Southwest Virginia.
With a heart for serving the community and reaching people around the world through mission projects, Fellowship Community Church is a multi-site church with three locations in the Roanoke Valley. With its roots in Salem, Virginia, the church began meeting in the basement of a founding member’s home in July 2000, and has since grown to a congregation of about 1,500.
