The Stonegate swimmers played host to Read Mountain on Monday in Salem and took a win over a formidable rival. Stonegate scored 1,328 points to 908 for the Muskies.
“We had a really good meet and a lot of great efforts,” said Stonegate coach Jake Van Roekel. “This was a difficult meet with two difficult events and we saw some great effort. I think we’re in a really good place as we keep moving forward and getting better and better.”
Highlights included Lin Daniel III, who placed 2nd in the gold division of the 25 free in 29.37. For 6 and under girls, Grace Breedlove placed 4th in the bronze division of the 25 free in 42.97, Abby Shores placed 5th in the bronze division of the 25 free in 44.83, and Sarah Maloney placed 8th in the bronze division of the 25 free for a season best time of 1:17.21.
For the 7-8 boys, Whitt Parrish placed 1st in the gold division of the 25 Breaststroke in 29.17, Austin Prosser placed 3rd in the silver division of the 25 breast in 31.75, and Matthew Habeeb placed 2nd in the bronze division of the breast in 39.70. Issac Snow placed 1st in the silver division of the 100 IM in 2:31.89 and Nicholas Fraticelli placed 2nd in the bronze division of the IM in 2:44.90.
For the 7-8 girls, Macy McMahon placed 1st in the gold division of both the 25 breast in 28.50 and the 100 IM in 1:59.03. Keeley Prosser placed 2nd in the bronze division of the 25 breast in 45.55.
For the 9-10 boys, Joren Poush placed 1st in the gold division of both the 50 breast in 43.42 and the 100 IM in 1:31.15. Daniel Maloney placed 1st in the bronze division of the 50 breast in 1:09.94 and 2nd in the silver division of the 100 IM in 2:06.76. Colton Easter placed 2nd in the silver division of the 50 breast in 1:06.32 and Ian Berroteran placed 3rd in the silver division of the silver division in 1:08.54. Starke Griffith placed 1st in the bronze division of the 100 IM in 2:22.56 and Ian Berroteran placed 3rd in the bronze division of the 100 IM in 2:33.55.
For the 9-10 girls, Ava Dalaski placed 1st in the gold division of the 50 breast in 52.22 and 1st in the Silver division of the 100 IM in 1:50.88. Lilly Conner placed 3rd in the silver division of the 50 breast in 1:02.34. Ashley Kay placed 5th in the silver division of the 50 breast in 1:02.94 and 2nd in the bronze division of the 100 IM in 2:13.59. Teagan Wood placed 7th in the bronze division of 100 IM in 2:26.50.
For the 11-12 boys, Zach Easter placed 1st in the silver division of the 50 breast in 51.24 and 1st in the gold division of the 100 IM in 1:33.50. Walker Peterson placed 1st in the gold division of the 50 breast in 48.42 and Aidan Poush placed 1st in the bronze division of the 50 breast in 1:00.93. William Marable placed 4th in the silver division of the 100 IMin 1:50.01, dropping 11 seconds! Daniel Habeeb placed 1st in the bronze division of the 100 IM in 1:55.99.
For the 11-12 girls, Eliza Fleenor placed 1st in the gold division of both the 50 breast in 41.65 and the 100 IM in 1:22.27. Kaylee Shifflett placed 1st in the silver division of the 50 breast in 50.24 and 3rd in the gold division of the 100 IM in 1:31.48. Laci Barnes placed 4th in the bronze division of the 50 breast in 1:15.84 and 5th in the bronze division of the 100 IM in 2:03.55.
For the 13-14 boys, Andrew Deese placed 2nd in the gold division of the 50 breast in 39.25 and 4th in the gold division of the 100 IM in 1:20.83. Jordi Berroteran placed 3rd in the silver division of the 50 breast in 48.16, and Nash Lakin placed 2nd in the silver division of the 100 IM in 1:27.45.
For the 13-14 girls, Ellyn Anama placed 2nd in the gold division of both the 50 breast in 40.11 and the 100 IM in 1:17.78. Emily Snow placed 4th in the gold division of the 50 breast in 44.17 and 5th in the gold division of the 100 IM in 1:27.79. Zoe Prosser placed 2nd in the silver division of both the 50 breast in 47.97 and 100 IM in 1:31.69.
For the 15-16 boys, James Miles placed 1st in the gold division of both the 50 breast in 37.49 and the 100 IM in 1:13.19. Hayden Conner placed 1st in the bronze division of both the 50 breast in 58.55 and the 100 IM in 1:48.25.
For the 15-16 girls, Sandy James placed 1st in the gold division of both the 50 breast in 42.22 and the 100 IM in 1:22.63. Saylor Bane placed 2nd in the gold division of both the 50 breast in 44.20 and the 100 IM in 1:24.93.
For the 17-18 boys, Alex Anama placed 1st in the gold division of the 50 breast in 39.40. Ben Shenal placed 1st in the gold division of the 100 IM in 1:15.00, and Garren Snow placed 2nd in the gold division of the 100 IM in 1:22.36.
Next Monday the Gators are back home to host Spring Run and Limestone Park.
