The Glenvar High volleyball team got bumped from the Three Rivers District tournament in the opening round of play Monday night. The Highlanders lost at Carroll County in four sets, 25-16, 25-10, 22-25 and 25-17.

It was a strange night for the girls, as the match was delayed due to a tornado warning. The girls had to stay in a shelter for about 45 minutes before the match could be played.

“When we finally got started Carroll was the tornado,” said Glenvar coach Basil Conner.

The Highlanders are now 10-11 overall. They’ll open Region 2C play on Monday with a home game against Floyd County.

Meanwhile, the Three Rivers District tournament will conclude Thursday night at the site of the top remaining seed.
