Governor Ralph Northam has ceremonially signed Senator David Suetterlein’s SB981 and Delegate Rodney Willett’s HB981 expediting the professional credentialing process for military spouses. The signing took place at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond at noon on July 23.

Senator Suetterlein also successfully carried SB103 in 2018 that similarly assisted teacher licensure for military spouses. Senator Suetterlein’s mother taught in Virginia public schools for 23 years and also earned public school teacher licenses in Arizona, California, Maine and New Jersey during the two decades Senator Suetterlein’s father served in the United States Air Force.
