The Glenvar baseball team will play host to Radford tonight in a Three Rivers District game hoping to gain a measure of revenge after losing to the Bobcats last week.
Radford took a 9-4 win on their home field last Thursday. Logan Lucas and Ryan Lee had two hits each for the Highlanders and each drove in a run. Cameron Wiley scored twice.
Cody Alexander took the loss on the mound for the Highlanders despite striking out six Bobcats in five innings. He allowed five earned runs while giving up six hits and walking five.
On Friday the Highlanders bounced back with a 5-0 win at Giles. Ryan Butler threw a complete game to pick up the win for Glenvar. The tall freshman struck out six and walked just one.
At the plate Hunter Phlegar was three-for-three while Trip Adams and Lee had two hits each. The Highlanders broke open a close game with three runs in the top of the seventh.
Glenvar is now 11-7 on the season.
