The Roanoke College baseball team will try to climb back over .500 this week with three Old Dominion Athletic Conference games. The Maroons were sched-uled to host Ferrum on Wednesday, followed by a doubleheader against Eastern Mennonite in Harrisonburg Saturday.
The Maroons are trying to snap a four-game losing streak that’s dropped them 8-9-1 on the season.
Last Thursday at home they dropped an 8-1 decision to Christopher Newport University in a non-conference game. Then, on Saturday, they were swept in an ODAC doubleheader in Salem by Randolph-Macon. Roanoke lost the opener, 6-3 in 11 innings, and then fell 19-7 in the nightcap.
Down 3-2, the Maroons tied the open- ing game in the ninth on a Danny Ferguson pinch hit single before ulti-mately falling in the 11th inning. Liam Murphy was the only Maroon to register multiple hits with two.
In game two Ferguson and Kyle Moshier both went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the loss. Jack Fehlner had a multi-RBI game after driving in a pair with a double down the left field line in the fifth.
With the losses the Maroons fell to 1-2-1 in ODAC play.
