Dear Editor,
Carter Turner, candidate for Delegate, came out in favor of tolls on I-81 last week during an interview with WFIR. That’s right, if you’d like to leave the Roanoke Valley – Carter Turner thinks you should pay a toll.
Under the guise of fixing our transportation woes, Richmond passed two of the largest tax increases in our history in 2007 and 2013 (most of which went to Northern Virginia). It infuriates me that after two months of campaigning, Turner is already proposing more ways to take our money!
Our wallets aren’t increasing in size, and government needs to find a way to fix problems without taking more of our hard earned money! Joe McNamara is a small businessman who knows what it means to tighten fiscal belts. We need to send a small business perspective to Richmond!
