Library Corner: March into Spring at the Salem Library

The Seed Library at the Salem Public Library is open. This year, seeds are being made available according to the dates recommended for planting them and as long as supplies last. Seeds that can be planted in early spring are now available: Arugula, Endive, Kale, Mustard, Bok Choi, Peas, Spinach and Swiss chard. Seeds recommended for planting AFTER DANGER OF FROST will be available April 21 as supplies last.

Spring Break (March 24-28) Space Alien Drop-in Craft for kids. Drop in and create your favorite alien in the Children’s Department while supplies last!

Wednesday, March 19, 6:30pm: Same Page Book Club: An LGBTQ+ book club for the community and allies.
Thursday, March 20, 2pm: Virtual Speaker Event: Join us for a transformative conversation with award-winning journalist and author, Clara Bingham, as she chats with us about her new book, The Movement: How Women’s Liberation Transformed America, 1963-1973.  The Movement is a comprehensive and engaging oral history of the decade that defined the feminist movement, including interviews with living icons and unsung heroes. Wednesday, March 26, 6:00pm: Sit ‘n Stitch: Join other fiber crafters as you workm on your own project! No registration required!

Thursday, March 27, 6:30pm: End of the World Book Club: Theme for this month is Horror/Sci-Fi. Read a book that fits this genre and come ready to discuss it. If you need assistance choosing a book to read, library staff will assist you.
