Roanoke County has awarded more than $108,000 in grants to 14 local businesses through the Economic Development Authority’s Business Equipment Acquisition Program, officials announced Dec. 2.
The BEAP grants will help small businesses purchase new equipment to expand or enhance their operations. Each award reimbursed up to 50% of capital acquisition costs, with a maximum grant of $20,000.
“This year’s BEAP Grant awardees demonstrate the strength and diversity of Roanoke County’s business community,” EDA Chair Woody Windley said in a statement. “We value their commitment to grow here and are proud to support their success.”
The BEAP program launched in fiscal year 2025 as a pilot effort to support existing businesses in Roanoke County and the Town of Vinton. Applicants were evaluated on business size, local ownership, supplier usage, engagement with resource partners and expected impact.
