More than 370 cadets received Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Virginia Military Institute during the commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 16.
Former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson addressed the Class of 2018 in VMI’s Cameron Hall. Graduating cadets included the following:
- Cole A. Hedge of Salem, Va., received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business with a Financial Management Concentration and Spanish Minor. Graduating honors include Distinguished Graduate. Cadet Hedge’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hedge.
- Samuel W. Shaffer of Salem, Va., received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
Cadet Shaffer’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas T. Shaffer.
