New Salem School Board member Macel Janoschka is happy to being doing more for Salem City Schools after 10 years of volunteering for them.
Monday night she was appointed to fill the remainder of Rachel Thompson’s term after Thompson was named a Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court Judge earlier this spring.
Janoschka called being appointed to the board “the next step.” She has volunteered while her two sons have been in school. Harrison is a rising sixth grader. Ben is a rising ninth grader.
Janoschka’s husband, Steven, is a technology and engineering teacher at Salem High School.
Macel Janoschka was one of five candidates who applied for the school board seat.
