The 20th nationally ranked Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team had no trouble staying undefeated Sunday when the Cougars of Keen College visited Salem’s Kerr Stadium. Roanoke took a 17-1 win to improve to 4-0 on the season.
It was all Maroons, beginning in the first quarter as Libby Bowman, Lilly Blair, Grace Koutouzis and Tiernan Connor each scored a goal for Roanoke in the first 15 minutes. Bowman then scored her second goal on a free position shot with just three seconds left to put the Maroons ahead 5-0 after one quarter.
Blair led the Maroons with five goals and two assists, also winning six draw controls. Addison Schmidt forced five caused turnovers and finished 10 on the weekend.
Roanoke hits the road for spring break this week, playing a contest against FDU-Florham at the USA Lacrosse Complex in Sparks, MD on Friday, March 10. Game time against the Devils is scheduled for 6 pm.
