Roanoke College senior Halle Schart earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors for the week of November 17.
Schart, from Mount Pleasant, S.C., also was named the conference’s women’s swimmer of the week on November 3, the last week the Maroons were in competition. She finished as the second high-point swimmer at the VMI Keydet Invitational last weekend in Lexington.
Schart finished first in a pair of individual events with a third-place showing in a third. She also contributed to four relays with one gold medal, one silver, and one bronze. Schart’s highlight swim came in the 100-yard backstroke where she won the event and eclipsed the NCAA B-cut standard with a nationally ninth-ranked time of 56.54.
Halle also won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:04.64, which is 22nd in Division III. Both times are number one in the ODAC, while her third-place mark of 0:24.44 in the 50-yard freestyle is second in the conference and 76th nationally.
Roanoke is now off from varsity competition until January 10.
