Roanoke County– Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism will celebrate improvements to Oak Grove Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 27, at 3 p.m.
Roanoke County utilized American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated by the board of supervisors to complete the park’s new improvements, including a new playground, pickleball court, restrooms, picnic shelter, expanded parking, asphalt trail enhancements and a new environmental education trail.
Roanoke County will also observe the 151st anniversary of Arbor Day with students from Oak Grove Elementary After School for Kids program and Virginia Department of Forestry. The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Roanoke County as a Tree City USA Community for the 25th year.
The event will take place at Oak Grove Park located at 5005 Grandin Road Extension Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
