
The Roanoke College field hockey team was hoping to break a five game losing streak when the Maroons traveled to Washington & Lee University on Wednesday of this week. Results were too late for publication.
Roanoke has had a run of tough luck in close games. Three of their last four games were losses in overtime, including a 3-2 loss to Hood College that followed two overtimes and a penalty shootout last Wednesday.
Last Saturday the Maroons hosted Bridgewater at Kerr Stadium and battled the visiting Eagles to a scoreless tie in regulation. Roanoke then lost to Bridgewater, 1-0, in two overtimes to fall to 2-8 on the season.
This Saturday the Maroons are in Harrisonburg to take on Eastern Mennonite University at 6 pm. They return home October 15 to host Sweet Briar at 7 pm.
