Participating in this summer’s national craze, hand-painted rocks have been turning up in hiding spots all over Salem! Families have been having fun this summer painting rocks, hiding them, and then finding and relocating rocks that others have hidden. The Salem Museum wants everyone to know that “history rocks,” too, so they are giving away a special prize to the first 20 families who stop by the Museum with a rock they have painted themselves that is history-related. These two history rocks—that are now in hiding!—commemorate Lakeside Amusement Park and the Civil War Battle of Hanging Rock. See more history rocks on the Salem Museum’s Facebook page.
