Paitsel, Kenneth “Kenny” James

Kenneth “Kenny” James Paitsel, Sr., 81, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 29, 2025. He was born on July 11, 1944, to the late James and Alva Paitsel in Craig County. Kenny retired from Pepsi Co. and was an avid sportsman. He adored his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Paitsel; son, Kenneth James “Jimmy” Paitsel; sisters, Margaret Paitsel, Shirley Paitsel, Ruby St. Clair, and Lucille Huffman; and an infant brother.

Left to cherish his precious memory include his daughter, Lynn Paitsel Young and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Krystal Paitsel and Kenneth “KJ” Paitsel and his wife, Kelly; great-grandson, Kyle James Paitsel; sisters, Harriet Medley, Oneta Paitsel, and Diane Ray; special sister-in-law, Bonnie Jenkins; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service to celebrate his life was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem. She was laid to rest at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.

Friends visited with the family from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a charitable contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Kenny.
