Roanoke County—Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism has announced its inaugural community yard sale and flea market event, Parkside Picks, taking place on Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. This new event brings together over 70 vendors offering a wide range of items, from vintage finds and collectibles to handmade crafts and household goods.
As a first-time event, Parkside Picks aims to create a unique space for families, friends, and neighbors to discover hidden treasures and breathe new life into pre-loved items, organizers said.
“We’re excited to launch Parkside Picks at Green Hill Park,” said Kelly Brammer, assistant director of tourism. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to get together, have fun, and discover some amazing bargains. With more than 70 vendors and food trucks, there’s something for everyone.”
No festival is complete without delicious food! Food vendors will offer a variety of cuisine for both breakfast and lunch. Organizers said they would have coffee available for purchase since it’s an early morning. Food trucks participating include: Hangrcy, Empanada Nirvana and The Coffee Bus.
Parkside Picks is a free event open to the community with a rain date of May 11. Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable bags for their purchases.
