After wrapping up the home portion of their 2020-21 season, the Roanoke field hockey team traveled to Winchester to face Shenandoah last Friday night and took a 2-1 win.
Each team scored a first half goal to send the game to the break at a 1-1 tie. The Maroons scored the go ahead goal in the third period and made it hold up as they came away with the 2-1 conference win.
Katherine Martin and Lauren Heffron scored the Roanoke goals. In goal Hannah Roerden picked up her fifth win of the season, recording three saves.
Now 5-2, the Maroons will complete their regular season Friday when they travel to Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:00pm start.
