Roanoke College freshman Nathaniel Orban and junior Ian Fellows finished in the top 35 to grab All-Region honors as the Roanoke College men’s cross country team placed seventh at the NCAA South Regionals last Saturday. The event was held at Green Hill Park in Roanoke County.

This is the first time since 2012 that the Maroons have had multiple All-Region honorees on the men’s side. Orban was the top finisher for the Maroons, placing 24th with a time of 25:34.70. He became the highest placing Maroon since 2022 when Cooper Neeble took 21st and was also just one of three freshmen to earn All-Region honors at this race.

Fellows moved up to ninth in the program record book as he ran a personal best time of 25:49.10 to take 28th. Ian had major improvements in this race from last season as he dropped nearly two minutes off his time and moved up almost 40 places.

The Roanoke College women’s cross country team capped off their season with a 14th place showing at the NCAA South Regionals. Roanoke improved three spots as a team from the 2024 season and cut over 100 points off their team score as they finished at 381 points. Maya Herndon had the best individual finish since 2016 as she placed 43rd with a time of 23:36.80.

Two ODAC teams were atop the men’s standings as Washington & Lee won the region team championship and the University of Lynchburg was second. In the women’s race Emory was first and W&L took second.
