The Salem Red Sox will continue their seven game homestand tonight when they welcome the Lynchburg Hillcats for the first game of a four game series. Salem hosted Winston-Salem for three games through Wednesday.
The Sox will be giving away Jackie Bradley Jr. “Clark Kent” Bobbles on Saturday night as part of “Superhero” Night. Game time is 6 pm, and on Sunday afternoon the Sox will be handing out pink carnations to all the moms for Mother’s Day.
Salem opened the homestand with a 6-4 loss to Winston-Salem on Monday. Salem continued to struggle with runners in scoring position, collecting just one hit in six such opportunities. The Dash took the lead in the second and never trailed, holding the Red Sox to only four hits through the first eight innings. Kyri Washington saw his career-best hitting streak end at 10 games, as he was 0-4 in the ballgame.
Salem dropped to 17-15 Tuesday with a 10-2 loss to the Dash. The Sox were hoping to salvage one game of the series Wednesday before Lynchburg comes in tonight.
