Regina Faye Proffitt Huffman, 64, of Salem, Va., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 15, 2025.

She was a woman full of life, love, and generosity, and whose happiest moments were often the simplest ones. She loved the beach and the pool, where she could soak up the sun and the laughter of her grandsons, who were her pride and joy. A lifelong book lover, she was rarely without a novel in hand and found beauty in flowers, plants, and the small wonders of nature.

She had a special gift for helping others – always the first to offer support, encouragement, or a listening ear. She delighted in shopping trips, the joy of live music, and the many little adventures that brought color and fun to her days.

Above all, she was devoted to her family, especially her beloved grandsons, who will carry her love and spirit forward.

She was predeceased by her father, Billy Thomas Proffitt; and her brother, Thomas Darell Proffitt.

She is survived by her mother, Millie Proffitt; husband of 42 years, Michael Huffman; son, Billy Huffman; daughter, Samantha Smart and her husband, Tanner; four grandsons, Julius Huffman, Keegan Huffman, Wyatt Smart, and Hayden Smart; sister, Linda Proffitt; brother, Steve Proffitt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
