The Roanoke College women evened their soccer record at 7-7-1 with a shutout win over Randolph College in Salem last week. Roanoke was hoping to get back on a winning side of the ledger with a game at Hollins University on Wednesday

Last week against Randolph the Maroons scored on an own goal just two minutes into the match to make it 1-0. At the half-hour mark, Lauren Fisher scored the match’s final goal from Brooke Nicholson which would hold for the rest of the game.

Roanoke outshot Randolph by a significant margin of 26-3 and had a 9-0 edge in corner kicks. RC goalkeeper Grace Suchy notched two saves in a shutout.

With the win the Maroons improved to 4-3 in ODAC games. After Wednesday’s game at Hollins they’ll host Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday at Kerr Stadium at 3 pm.
