The Salem High cross country team was in a competitive meet for the first time in a year and a half Monday on a beautiful day to run. Both the Salem boys and girls finished fifth out of seven teams at Hidden Valley.
Walker Peterson led the boys team followed by Tommy Henzey, Gaven Conner, Alex Helems, Lance Topanta, Carson Tucker and Adam Warren. The girls were led by Anna Pitts, then Emma Chamberland, Brooke Bowers, Elizabeth Bocock, Abby Pitts, Rebekah Rothkopt and Amanda Rothkopf.
“It was great to be back, and the weather was a bonus,” said coach Tom Roth.
The Spartans will be back in action next Wednesday, March 17, at Patrick Henry.
