The Salem High School lacrosse teams will celebrate “Senior Night” Friday when the Spartans play host to the Cave Spring girls and boys.
The girls will play first, beginning at 5:30 pm. The seniors for both teams will be honored following that game, then the boys will take on the Knights.
Salem’s girls come in at 12-0 after defeating Patrick Henry at Spartan Field Monday night, 14-6. Madi Caldwell had four goals and three assists for the Spartans while senior Lilly Blair had four goals and two assists. Blair’s four goals left her just 10 goals away from 300 for her four-year varsity career.
Libby Bowman and Kara Yates had two goals each for the Spartans while Amber Wright and Alla Daniel hit the net one time each.
“We maintained eight draw controls, which is extremely tough to do against PH’s six foot center,” said Salem coach Maggi Pace.
Charity Hall, Makenzie Redding, Danielle Rich, Maggie Crute and Mae Kennedy combined for 21 caused turnovers and interceptions. Maddie Bowman had eight saves in goal despite playing sick.
The boys did not play in the past week.
