Members and supporters of the Salem Moose Family Center 2573 collected more than $1,500 in food and supplies for the Salem Animal Shelter and raised $4,200 for Paws4People Foundation through a fundraiser on Nov. 18.
The Soup and Sandwich Saturday was organized and coordinated by Salem resident Ann Whitenack. More than 70 people and a couple of dogs attended the event at the Moose Lodge on East Main Street.
Paws4People Foundation is a Golden retriever service dog group.
Fundraiser Attendees had a chance to win door prizes and raffle items ranging from donated new Coach purses to a dog bed filled with treats, toys and food, cat toys and supplies, gift cards to area restaurants and businesses. There were also donated homemade cakes.
