The Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce is holding the 19th Annual Blue Ridge Kite Festival this Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Green Hill Park in Roanoke County. The Richmond Air Force (RAF) Kite Club is returning to amaze attendees with enormous handmade kites and extraordinary flying stunts.
Admission and parking to this event are free and it is the perfect weekend activity for the whole family. Come enjoy the variety of food, arts, crafts and corporate vendors; relax on the lawn or test your own kite flying skills. The first 500 kids (12 and under), will receive a free event t-shirt and a kite.
The kite festival is presented by Kroger. The kite sponsor is Yokohama. Corporate sponsors are Mount Regis Center and the Salem VA Credit Union. Kid Activity sponsors are Salem Parks & Recreation, Freedom First and Southwest Virginia Moving and Storage.
