Youth from Central United Methodist, College Lutheran and Salem Presbyterian churches collected food for the Salem Food Pantry through a program called Trick-or-Treat SOME (So Others May Eat). Each church adopted a neighborhood and delivered a brown bag along with an invitation to fill the bag with non-perishable food items. When the bags were collected and the contents weighed, 3135 pounds of food were added to the shelves. “It is always exciting to work together to help our neighbors in need,” Rev. Janet Denton Chisom, associate pastor at Salem Presbyterian Church, said.
