The Salem High softball team was rained out of their appearance in the “Botetourt Bash” last weekend in Daleville. The two-day, 14-team event was shortened to one day, Friday, with a snowstorm forecast for Saturday.
Salem’s only scheduled games at the Bash were on Saturday, so that knocked the Spartans out of two games. Several teams competed in a revamped Friday lineup but the Spartans were one of several teams that weren’t included.
On Tuesday, Salem was scheduled to play Patrick Henry in Roanoke, but wet conditions forced postponement of that game as well. Salem had a makeup game with Lord Botetourt scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the Moyer Complex, and today the Spartans will host Christiansburg at Moyer. That will be there last game until after spring break, which begins this Friday.
The Spartans are 2-2 prior to this week’s games.
