The Salem Red Sox will be home this week to continue the “460 Series” with six games against the Lynchburg Hillcats. The series was scheduled to begin on Tuesday night and continue through Sunday.
Weekday games will begin at 7:05 pm with a 6:05 pm start Saturday and a 5:05 pm game Sunday. Tonight is a “Bark in the Park” game and Friday is Teacher Appreciation Day with post-game fireworks. Saturday is PBS Kids Night and kids can run the bases after the game on Sunday.
Salem comes into the series with a 17-16 record after taking five of six games from the Delmarva Shorebirds in Salisbury, MD last week. That put the Sox back over .500 at 17-16 as they closed to within two and a half games of first place Fredricksburg in the Carolina League’s North Division. Lynchburg comes in at 17-15, a half game ahead of the Sox, for the big series at Salem Memorial Ballpark.
Also last week, the Sox announced that Beale’s Brewery will be the presenting partner for this season’s Pride Night. Beale’s is joining the Roanoke Diversity Center, who has been a consistent partner with the Red Sox in efforts to promote the evening. Pride Night is scheduled for Thursday June 2nd, with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. There will be a Pride Walk and the evening will also serve as Thirsty Thursday and Bark in the Park night.
“We’ve had a great partnership with Beale’s for several years and are excited for them to join in the efforts of what the team and the Diversity Center started a couple of seasons ago of making sure the ballpark is a welcoming place for everyone.” said Steven Elovich, Salem’s Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.
Beale’s Brewery is located in Bedford, Virginia and the company caters across Virginia and the D.C. area.
