Weather permitting, the Salem Red Sox will play a doubleheader tonight against the Potomac Nationals before Wilmington comes in for three games this weekend.
The Sox have had a tough time playing Potomac this spring. Tuesday’s doubleheader makes seven games against Potomac that have been rained out thus far, including three doubleheaders. The two teams were scheduled to play doubleheaders in Salem on Wednesday and Thursday of this week and June 11 and 13 in Potomac.
Salem was 23-25 prior to Tuesday’s washout. The Sox went 3-5 on their most recent road trip, splitting four in Frederick before losing three of four in Wilmington. On Monday the Sox rallied from a 2-0 deficit but never quite managed to take the lead, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Wilmington Blue Rocks on a walk-off hit-by-pitch at Frawley Stadium.
