Salem’s teachers and support staff members returned to work this week to make sure their respective classrooms are all set for the start of the 2024-25 school year. The employees shared stories and broke bread for lunch at Salem High School before gathering in the auditorium where they were briefed by Superintendent Curtis Hicks. Everything from updated policies to classroom success stories across the division were discussed and applauded. The Aug. 19 opening day marks the earliest start date in the 43-year history of the Salem City School Division. -The Salem Times-Register
