After two years of leadership as co-chair of the Roanoke College Parent Leadership Council, Nicole (Brewer) Terrill has been named a voting member of the Roanoke College Board of Trustees, according to an announcement last week from the college.
Terrill holds a B.A. in English and sociology from Roanoke College (Class of 1995) and a master of public health from Colombia University’s Mailman School. She has a working background in health care administration, project management and education, and was a visiting instructor in Roanoke College’s Sociology and Public Health Studies Department during the past academic year.
In addition, Terrill has served on the board of directors for a variety of community organizations, including the Roanoke Adolescent Health Partnership, YMCA of Roanoke Valley, Junior League of the Roanoke Valley and the Roanoke Valley Garden Club. She currently serves on the Pediatric Family Advisory Council for The Johns Hopkins Hospital and is a senior warden at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Roanoke.
From 2022-2024, Terrill and her husband, Greg Terrill (Roanoke College Class of 1994), served as co-chairs of the Parent Leadership Council, which made them ex-officio or non-voting members of the Board of Trustees. In addition, Nicole Terrill served on the college’s Strategic Planning Team and on multiple search committees for cabinet-level positions. The Terrills are the parents of Nora Terrill, who graduated in May with a degree in environmental studies and received the Environmental Studies Research Award.
“Roanoke College is particularly adept in its cultivation of learning, experiences and strong friendships,” Terrill said. “The college’s students are encouraged to realize the profound impact they can make in their communities and the world. I am proud to take part in continuing this legacy of education.”
