Salem High’s Carson Tucker(center) was the recipient of a $3,500 scholarship from the Cosmopolitan Club of Roanoke in conjunction with the annual Cosmo Track and Field meet. Carson was a senior distance runner on the Spartan track and cross country teams, having graduated last Friday. Here he accepts the check from the Cosmopolitan Club flanked by mother Laura Tucker and grandfather Chris Tucker. The award is presented to a track athlete who shows leadership and service to the school and community.
