The Salem Civic Center will be the site for the Virginia High School League state championship volleyball games for Class 1, 2 and 3 this Saturday. Semifinal matches were scheduled for Tuesday of this week at host sites with the winners advancing to the championships at the Civic Center Saturday.
In Class 3, undefeated Christiansburg of the River Ridge District was scheduled to play New Kent on Tuesday with Abingdon and Kettle Run in the other semifinal. Saturday’s championship is at noon.
The Class 1 championship will be at 2:15 pm Saturday. Tuesday’s semifinals had Auburn at Giles and Lancaster at Middlesex.
In Class 2 John Battle was playing Radford of the Three Rivers District in one semifinal with Clarke County against Fort Defiance in the other. The championship will serve ‘em up at 4:30 pm Saturday to conclude the tripleheader at the Civic Center.
