Thomas and Linda Pruett of Salem celebrated their 50th “Golden Anniversary” with a vow renewal and reception on the afternoon of Saturday, August 19, at Christian Life International Church officiated by Pastor Ryan Linkous.
The two were married on August 18, 1967, in Salem Presbyterian Church by Dr. Elwood D. Vaughn. They celebrated their love with their children, grandchildren and close family and friends.
Thomas is the son of the late Alfred and Lillian Pruett of Salem. Linda is the daughter of the late Charlie and Eioline White, also of Salem.
Thomas is retired from VDOT and Linda is a happy wife and homemaker. They have four children: Lynda (Mark) Akers, TC (Michelle), Chuck (Melissa) and Tim. They also have ten grandchildren – Brittany, Aaron, Brandon, Michael, Conner, Maddie, Sara, Lewis, Jeremy and Brandy.
They celebrated the occasion with a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They are active in the church and love to spend time with family and tend to their garden and Linda’s flowers. As Pastor Ryan said, “they are good for another fifty years.”
