Above, Glenvar’s Jules Stanley(black uniform) scores the 100th goal of her high school career in last week’s win over
Carroll County at Highlander Stadium. Below left, Stanley is swarmed by teammates after accomplishing the rare feat
and, below right, enjoys the moment with parents Christine and Mike Stanley.

The Glenvar High girls remained undefeated in soccer with a 1-0 win over Radford
at Highlander Stadium Tuesday. Jules Stanley
scored her 102nd career goal, assisted by
Avery Steger, as the Highlanders improved to
7-0 on the season.
Tuesday’s game was the first in a week, as
Glenvar defeated Carroll County at home in
the Highlanders’ first game back from spring
break last week. The 7-0 win was highlighted
by two more goals from Giuliana “Jules”
Stanley, including the 100th goal of her high
school career. Stanley scored in the first half
and the game was briefly stopped to recognize
the accomplishment. She scored another goal
later for 101.
“Pretty special moment for our senior captain, achieving such a big milestone early on in
her senior year,” said Glenvar coach Kyleigh
Drew. “We’re extremely proud of her and the
player she is. She is a huge leader of this team
and is a truly special player. We are lucky to
have her on our team.”
Teammate Davin Tate had three goals in this
game while Anna Vecellio and Steger had one
apiece.
The Highlanders are now off until next
Tuesday, April 16, when they play Alleghany
at the Jackson River Sports Complex
