The Roanoke College volleyball team improved to 8-3 on the season after sweeping two matches in Swannanoa, N.C., last weekend. The Maroons defeated Regent University and Warren Wilson, both three sets to one.
Roanoke junior Teagan Hubble surpassed 1,000 career digs Saturday in the opening match with Regent. Hubble needed 28 digs heading into the day to reach 1,000 and left no doubt by registering a season-high 31 against Regent with nine assists. Hubble now has 1,015 career digs, good for 10th all time in program history.
Emma Catoe hit a team-best nine kills with no errors against Regent while Raygan Wade had eight kills, 12 assists and six digs. Catoe and Zarah Love each smacked 15 kills against Warren Wilson and Wade distributed 21 assists.
The Maroons were scheduled to play an ODAC match at Hollins University on Tuesday of this week. On Friday they’re at the University of Lynchburg for a 6 p.m. match and next Wednesday, Sept. 30, they’ll host Averett at 6:30 p.m. at the Cregger Center in Salem.
