The Roanoke College women will be in Lynchburg Saturday for a 5 p.m. soccer game against the University of Lynchburg. Roanoke was scheduled to play host to Hollins on Wednesday of this week but results were too late for publication.
The Maroons were 5-4-4 overall and 2-1-2 in the ODAC prior to Wednesday’s game. Last Saturday they were shut out for the third time in a row as they fell to Batten University in Virginia Beach, 2-0.
The contest was tied for nearly 55 minutes before two second-half goals from Batten. Rebecca Carr and Madalyn Szoke both had three shots for the Maroons and Grace Suchy made seven saves in the cage. With the win Batten remained unbeaten at 9-0-3.
