The Roanoke College women fell to 7-12 on the hardwood with a 73-43 loss to Randolph-Macon in ODAC Women’s Basketball action last Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Va.
Kristina Harrel scored a team-high 18 points followed by Madeline Suhr with 13 points. Victoria Maxwell grabbed 14 rebounds and Suhr also recorded a game-high nine blocks to go along with nine rebounds.
With the score 21-22 R-MC, the Yellow Jackets went on a 9-0 run capped by a layup from Woods to make it 30-21 with just under three minutes left in the first half. A layup from Suhr closed the gap to seven, making it 39-32 with 5:34 to go in the third quarter. However, the Yellow Jackets went on to outscore the Maroons 19-4 in the final quarter to win going away.
The loss dropped RC to 4-6 in ODAC play, and they were scheduled to play at Emory & Henry on Wednesday. This Saturday the Maroons will host Eastern Mennonite at the Cregger Center in Salem at 3:30 pm
