The Salem-Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame held its annual banquet and induction ceremony at the Salem Civic Center last Thursday evening.
Among the inductees was Salem’s Jon Hartness, along with Doug Heptinstall, Bobby Basham, David Hagan and Rodney Spradlin. Basham, an executive with the Chicago Cubs who hails from Franklin County, also served as the guest speaker and Bill Turner, an Andrew Lewis High School and Roanoke College graduate, received the Wayne LaPierre, Sr. Community Service Award.
