The Roanoke College baseball team will play host to Lynchburg College this weekend in a best-of-three series to open the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Maroons are the third seed and defending champions in the ODAC, while Lynchburg comes to Salem as the third seed. The best-of-three is tentatively scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Salem Memorial Stadium.
Randolph-Macon College picked up a win on the final day of the regular season to lock up the top position in the league table and secure the top seed. A pair of ties helped dictate the remainder of the tournament field, which sees an increase in size by two teams in 2018.
Two weekends will feature tournament play for the first time with the field expanding to eight teams. The top four seeds will host four best-of-three series the first weekend. The four winners will then head to the ODAC Tournament’s traditional home at City Stadium in Lynchburg, Va., the following weekend. They will play a double-elimination format to determine the league champion.
